Portugal’s average gross monthly remuneration per worker reached 1,694 euros in 2025, registering a growth of 5.6%, that is above the 4.7% growth rate that was expected in the Tripartite Agreement on Wage Enhancement and Economic Growth 2025-2028.
According to Portugal’s Ministry of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, this evolution signals a stabilization of the ratio between the average wage and the minimum wage, after years of wage compression.
The increase in Portugal’s average wage growth translated into a real gain in purchasing power of 3.2% for families.
Portugal’s Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, Maria do Rosário Ramalho, stated that the sustainable increase in wages requires a combination of tax incentives with effective productivity gains.
