Startups in Portugal are scaling-up in a drive to become Portugal’s future unicorns, with the support of the Unicorn Factory Lisboa scaling-up program. The eight-month scaling-up program is so successful that it supports not only startups from Portugal, but also from the rest of the world. The scaling-up program prepares startups for internationalization.
There are eight startups that are part of Unicorn Factory Lisboa’s 2025 scaling-up program, out of which 75% are Portuguese and have already raised 11 million euros in combined investment.
The startups that are scaling-up with the aim of becoming future unicorns will benefit from the Unicorn Factory Lisboa team of 140 mentors, investors and international market leaders, including Steve Cadigan, LinkedIn's first Human Resources director, who has been part of the scaling-up program since the very beginning. The Unicorn Factory Lisboa scaling-up program is supported by strategic partners, including Google, BPI, Cuatrecasas, Delta Cafés, Fidelidade, Galp, Grupo Brisa, PwC Portugal and the Lisbon City Council.
