Portugal news - German technological company Testo is investing in a new production plant in Portugal.

German high-tech company Testo, that is a world market leader in the field of portable and stationary measurement solutions, is investing in a new plant in the district of Aveiro in Central Portugal. Testo is investing a mid-double-digit million amount estimated at around 25 million euros in Portugal.

With the official laying of the foundation stone, Testo SE & Co has officially started the construction of its new production plant in Central Portugal and Portuguese construction company Garcia Garcia was chosen by the German multinational to carry out the construction project. The production plant will house development, production and logistics clusters on a total area of around 21,000 square meters.

Testo, that has 37 subsidiary companies worldwide, employs around 3,500 people. The new Testo plant in Portugal will potentially create up to 500 new jobs.

Testo has chosen to invest in a production plant in Portugal in line with its strategy of becoming more independent of individual suppliers and locations that requires three mutually complementary production sites and the new Portuguese plant will not lead to terminations in Germany.
