Indra Spain invests €200 million for a Military Vehicles Plant

Defence News Europe - Indra Spain is investing 200 million euros for a Military Vehicles Plant to accelerate the development of one of Europe’s largest industrial Hubs with the capacity to produce around 500 military vehicles a year, according to an announcement dated July 30, 2026:
With Indra´s new investment in the Spanish Defence sector, the group plans to increase its production surface area from around 36,000 m² to more than 154,000 m², through an investment of over €200 million and the creation of more than 1,000 direct industrial jobs and 1,400 engineering and highly qualified positions.
Spain becomes a European Hub for the production of Military Vehicles:
Spain´s northern corridor in the Galicia region is set to become one of Europe’s major hubs for the manufacture of military vehicles. The Indra Group´s plant in the As Pontes center is expected to integrate amphibious combat vehicles, bridge-laying vehicles and wheeled artillery systems that will be developed for the Spanish Armed Forces.
“What we are building in the northern corridor is much more than an expansion of our production capacity. We are developing a new generation of factories designed from scratch to integrate advanced digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence, with the aim of placing them among the most efficient and competitive in Europe” - Josep María Recasens, CEO of Indra Group.
