With the new EU rules on instant payments, people and businesses can now transfer money in euro within seconds anytime, day or night, weekdays or weekends, across the euro area.

Instant Euro payments will boost Europe's economy, improving the cash flow of companies and will provide access to instant money for emergencies.

While Euro payments will take seconds instead of days, there will be no increase in fees. Euro transactions will also be more secure, with payment service providers required to verify the intended beneficiary and send an alert to the payer in case of error or suspected fraud.
