Portugal news - Porto’s Douro River will have a new dream bridge by 2025. The new bridge, that will have a footpath as well as a bike path, will serve the Porto Metro ruby line.
The name of Porto’s next landmark is open for public consultation online for 30 days since April 6th and the name selected will be announced on June 2nd. The new name for Porto’s bridge is to be selected from historical figures who were linked to the city.
It is expected that Porto’s new bridge, that will be linked to the ruby line, will reduce the number of vehicles by 5.2 million in 2026 and will serve around 11.4 million metro users.
