Insurance companies in Portugal grew by 1 billion euros during the first semester of 2025, that represents a market growth of 14.2% compared to the same period in 2024. Life insurance policies grew by 19.4% to reach 3,890 million euros, while non-life insurance policies grew by 9.6% to reach 4,097 million euros, compared to the same period in 2024.

Top 5 Insurance Companies in Portugal in 2025:

1 – Fidelidade

Fidelidade ranks No. 1 Insurance Company in Portugal in 2025 with written premiums of 2,344,014 million euros for the first semester of 2025, that represents a growth of 22.1% compared to the same period in 2024.

Fidelidade has a market share of 29.3% in Portugal, that is a growth of 1.9%. Its insurers include Via Directa, and Multicare.

2 – AGEAS

AGEAS ranks 2^nd Insurance Company in Portugal in 2025 with written premiums of 1,287,886 million euros for the first semester of 2025, that represents a growth of 0.7% compared to the same period in 2024.

AGEAS has a market share of 16.1% in Portugal, that is a decline of -2.2%.

3 – GENERALI

GENERALI ranks 3^rd Insurance Company in Portugal in 2025 with written premiums of 1,100,366 million euros for the first semester of 2025, that represents a growth of 19.7% compared to the same period in 2024.
