Why Pool Lights and Pool Pumps Should Be Seen Before They Are Bought: COREX Launches Neelo

Every pool owner wants the same thing: a pool that looks beautiful at night and runs without trouble. Yet most still buy pool lights without seeing how they will look in their own water, and buy a pool pump without knowing if it is the right size. COREX Pool Products, a Spain-based pool equipment brand and registered EU trade mark, has launched Neelo by COREX, a free pool light visualizer and pool pump size calculator that shows owners their lighting and their exact equipment before a single product is ordered.

The Goal: A Pool That Looks Right and Runs Right:

For a private owner, well-placed underwater pool lights turn a garden into an evening space. For a hotel or holiday rental, the pool at night is part of what guests photograph, share and pay for. Behind the scenes, the swimming pool pump and filter keep the water clean. The goal is simple. The lights should look the way the owner imagined, and the equipment should match the pool.

The Old Way of Buying Pool Lights and Pool Pumps:

Today, most LED pool lights are chosen from a catalogue or a product page. The buyer reads a colour name and a wattage. Then they guess. A pool pump and pool sand filter are often chosen the same way, by price or by whatever was fitted before. Only after installation does anyone see the real result.

The Obvious Waste:

Think of buying paint for a living room from a colour name alone, without a sample on the wall. Most people would not do it. Yet this is how pool lighting is usually bought. When the guess is wrong, the light is too cold, too bright or too weak. Changing inground pool lights means a second product, a second visit from the installer, and often lowering the water level. A pool pump that is too small leaves water poorly cleaned. One that is too large wastes electricity every day it runs.

Breaking It Down to Basics:

Strip the purchase back and only a few questions matter:

  • What colour will the water be at night?

  • How many pool lights does this pool need?

  • What size pool pump do I need?

  • Which swimming pool filter matches that pump?

None of these are answered by a product sheet. All of them can be answered from a photo of the pool and four measurements.

The Root Cause:

The problem is not the equipment. It is the gap between what the buyer knows when deciding and what they see after installation. Pool lighting is a visual product sold with words. Pumps and filters are sized products sold without sizing.

The Simple Fix: Neelo, a Free Pool Light Visualizer and Pool Pump Calculator:

Neelo runs in any web browser on a phone or computer, with nothing to download. It is available in English and Spanish.

To see LED pool lights on their own pool, users:

  • Upload a photo of their pool or take one on the spot.

  • Let Neelo find the water in the photo automatically.

  • Switch between day and night, then tap a colour to see the pool lit up.

  • Share the result with family on WhatsApp.

To find the right pool pump and filter, users:

  • Enter the pool’s length, width and depth at both ends.

  • Tick an option if they want warm water in winter.

  • See the recommended pool pump, sand filter, pool heat pump and number of lights.

  • Send the list to COREX on WhatsApp or by email for a personal quote with price and stock.

The pool photo stays on the user’s own phone and is not uploaded.

What Size Pool Pump Do I Need? The Simple Numbers:

The rules behind Neelo’s pool pump sizing are simple enough to check by hand. They come from COREX’s own sizing guide

  • Pool volume: length × width × average depth. A 10 m by 5 m pool, 1.5 m deep on average, holds 75 m³ of water.

  • Pool pump: the pump should clean all the water in about 8 hours. 75 m³ divided by 8 is about 9.4 m³ per hour. A 0.75 HP pool pump is enough.

  • Pool sand filter: the filter must handle at least the same flow as the pump. For about 10 m³ per hour, a 500 mm sand filter works well.

  • Pool lights: about one light for every 20 m² of water. A 50 m² pool needs 3 lights.

  • Pool heat pump: about 1 kW for every 4.5 m³ of water, for owners who want to swim in winter.

Neelo does this arithmetic in seconds. The owner gets a complete, matched kit instead of a guess, and a correctly sized swimming pool pump avoids paying to run more motor than the pool needs.

Real Proof:

The approach is already proven in other visual purchases. Paint visualizers let homeowners try wall colours on a photo of their own room before buying, and have become a normal part of choosing paint. Furniture and flooring retailers use the same idea to show products in a customer’s own space.

COREX has applied this proven method to the pool. Every recommendation in Neelo comes from the COREX range of pool pumps, sand filters and LED pool lights, so what the customer sees is what the customer can order. Installation help is also available through the same WhatsApp channel.

The Bigger Future:

Southern Europe has one of the largest concentrations of private and holiday pools in the world. Many of these pools are moving from older lighting to LED pool lights and replacing ageing pumps and filters. Each upgrade is a buying decision, and each decision is easier when the owner can see the result and trust the sizing.

Seeing before buying is becoming the standard for visual products. For pool owners, installers, hotels and developers across the EU, it means fewer wrong purchases, fewer wasted visits, lower running costs and pools that look the way they were meant to from the first night.
