Airbnb expands to include houses of seniors in Portugal

Portugal news - Airbnb is expanding its offering in Portugal by including rooms in the houses of seniors.
Airbnb’s new business model in Portugal is also a model for social responsibility for the benefit of the country’s large share of seniors. Airbnb is partnering with Portugal’s Reformers association to launch a pilot project to list a room in the houses of seniors on the Airbnb platform. This is meant to give a sense of community to Portugal’s seniors who begin their journey as an Airbnb host. The pilot project includes support provided to seniors by three mentors from Portugal’s Reformers Association and two Airbnb community leaders.
Airbnb is betting on Portugal’s seniors for a more inclusive business model that aims at creating a positive social change by countering loneliness among senior citizens and fostering a sense of community.
