Renewable Energy News Europe - Greenvolt and BYD have partnered to supply the largest Battery Energy Storage facility in Poland and one of the largest in Europe:

Greenvolt signed an agreement with BYD Energy Storage for one of Europe´s largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The Siedlce BESS project in Poland has a a planned capacity of 600 MW / 2.4 GWh and is scheduled for commercial operation by the end of 2027, supporting the country´s grid stability and the continued integration of renewable energy.

The Siedlce Battery Energy Storage System project in Poland has already secured revenues through the Polish capacity market mechanism and is scheduled to start construction in Q3 2026.

Greenvolt Group is investing heavily in Poland with a diversified pipeline of 238 MW in wind energy, 657 MW in solar energy and 2,595 MW in Battery Energy Storage (BESS), representing a total capacity of around 12.8 GW. Greenvolt energy sales in Poland reached 1 GW in 2025.
