Portugal Fashion news - Jean Paul Gaultier is presenting his Fashion Freak Show in Portugal in November.
Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fashion Freak Show will be held in Lisbon on 8-12 and in Porto on 16-19 November 2023.
In this musical celebration, Jean Paul Gaultier presents some of his most iconic haute couture pieces, such as Madonna's pointed bodices, in a setting full of multimedia elements and visual effects. The fashion show celebrates 50 years of fashion success displayed in a frenetic rhythm, with dancers, actors, and acrobats.
Enter Gaultier's world of glamour, excess, poetry, and magic which, in this unprecedented exhibition, also pays tribute to those who inspired his work: Pedro Almodóvar and Luc Besson (in cinema), Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Mylène Farmer (in music) and Régine Chopinot and Angelin Prejlocaj (in dance).
Nile Rodgers is responsible for the show's explosive playlist which ranges from disco to funk, including pop and rock. The creative team is co-directed by Tonie Marshall and choreographed by Marion Motin.
According to Jean Paul Gaultier: “This show is an invitation to dream, to make dreams come true. I was lucky and wanted to share my story to show that, whoever we are, the doors are open.”
