Space News Europe - Here is the list of the Top 20 companies in Portugal´s Space Industry, according to a report produced by Portugal Space and Novaspace, published on July 2, 2026:
Portugal´s Space industry represents around 0.1% of Portugal´s GDP. Portugal´s Space industry generated 2.4 billion euros for the national economy between 2019 and 2024. Out of this amount, 1.2 billion euros contributed to Portugal´s GDP, supporting an average of around 4,500 jobs with an estimated 290 million euros in tax revenue.
List of the Top 20 companies in Portugal´s Space Industry:
1 - Instituto Pedro Nunes (ESA BIC)
Instituto Pedro Nunes provides the expansion of facilities to incubate ESA BIC startups that use space technologies, supporting the entrepreneurship and cooperation with the ESA.
2 - Spin.Works
Spin.Works provides the implementation of hardware and validation of control systems for nano and micro-satellites.
3 - Active Space
Active Space Technologies is a European based company operating in Space, aeronautics, nuclear, Defence, and industry. Active Space Technologies offers bespoke electro-mechanical systems for extreme harsh environments, such as instruments and mechanisms, actuators and wireless sensing systems. Their systems are qualified for high-g, high temperature, and radiation environments.
Active Space ADVANSS provides the design and optimization of manufacturing components additives for Space, with the support of OHB.
4 - Lusospace
LusoSpace is a pioneering engineering company specializing in designing, developing, integrating and testing advanced technological systems. Aethra provides the development of satellite monitoring solutions based on radar technology to detect ground movements and the subsidization of infrastructure.
10 - RFA Portugal & CEiiA
RFA Portugal & CEiiA provide the development of a micro-launcher, demonstrating Portuguese capabilities in aerospace design and production.
11 - Xsealence - Sea technologies
