Portugal’s Digital Nomad work environment is rapidly turning into an up-scale market that meets the needs of the most demanding clients.

In Lisbon, the international luxury brand World Trade Center (WTC) was recently inaugurated and is now part of the network of WTCs in over 90 countries. The Lisbon development is comprised of 4 buildings as well as a 35,000sq.m campus. The luxury facilities include a rooftop with a panoramic view, cutting-edge technology, a wellness center, shopping outlets, a hotel and a congress center.

Lisbon’s WTC obtained the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification under the US Green Building Council as well as the WELL Building Standard that recognizes responsible building design that focuses on wellness.

Clients who choose to work in the new Lisbon Center have the opportunity of joining its Business Club that is a global network of 90 countries. The Club, that is structured around thematic groups that include Start-ups, Real Estate, Smart Cities, International Trade and Tourism, already has over 300 companies participating.

While brands such as Bayer, Worten, Helm and Continente are housed in the premises, there is also a Coworking Space for micro and small businesses.

Lisbon’s World Trade Center is located close to the city center as well as beaches and the Monsanto Park. Portugal’s quality of life enhances the work environment and Lisbon was just voted by InterNations expats as the 4th Best City in the world due to factors that include the Environment and Climate, the Culture and Welcome, the Ease of Settling-in and the Cost of Living. The InterNations report shows that 17% of expats moved to Lisbon for a better quality of life, compared to 7% for other destinations. Another important factor for selecting Lisbon is the fact that nine out of ten expats feel safe there and they also find it easy to get around on foot or by bicycle.

While Lisbon is a well-developed work environment for Digital Nomads, Porto is also turning into an up-scale destination and will soon host the country’s second World Trade Center.

In Portugal, the Future is Now and it is a world that is focused not only on people, but also on their ideas and dreams, where technology is as important as wellbeing.
