Jobs News – Here is the ranking of the Top 10 countries and the sectors with the most job vacancies for skilled workers globally in 2026, according to the Manpower 2026 Global Talent Shortage report published on February 26, 2026.

 

There is a global shortage of skilled workers of 72% on average, with the IT sector facing the most talent shortages, with three out of four employers finding it difficult to find employees.

 

Here is the ranking of countries worldwide with the highest talent shortage as well as the ranking of sectors with the most job vacancies globally in 2026 and the profiles the most in demand on the job market:

Slovakia ranks No. 1 country globally with the most job vacancies for skilled workers in 2026, with a talent shortage of 87%.

 

 

2 – Greece and Japan

 

Greece and Japan both rank 2nd in the ranking of countries globally with the most job vacancies for skilled workers in 2026, with a talent shortage of 84%.

 

 

3 – Germany

 

Germany ranks 3rd country globally with the most job vacancies for skilled workers in 2026, with a talent shortage of 83%.

 

 

4 – India and Portugal

 

India and Portugal both rank 4th in the ranking of countries globally with the most job vacancies for skilled workers in 2026, with a talent shortage of 82%.

The IT (Tech) sector ranks No. 1 sector with the most job vacancies globally in 2026 with a talent shortage of 75%.

 

Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills are the talent the most in demand globally, overtaking traditional engineering and IT capabilities. This historic shift highlights a new era in the persistent global talent crisis.

 

There are the most job vacancies globally in AI Model & Application Development, with a 20% talent shortage, and in AI Literacy, with a 19% talent shortage.
