While the median age of the population in the EU is 44.9 years old in 2025, there are a numbers of European countries with a much younger population, especially Türkiye with a median age of 34.4 years old, Azerbaijan with a median age of 35.1 years old and Iceland with a median age of 37.2 years old.



Which countries in Europe have the oldest population?


The three countries with the oldest population in Europe are Monaco with a median age of 50.8 years old, followed by Italy with a median age of 49.1 years old and Portugal with a median age of 47.3 years old in 2025.
