Christian Louboutin is planning to open a new hotel in Portugal in 2026 that will be called Vermelho Lagoa (meaning Red Lagoon), to match the brand of his other hotel in Setúbal called Vermelho Melides.

Louboutin’s new hotel opening in Spring 2026 will be a renovation of an existing building in Melides, Setúbal. The architect of Christian Louboutin’s Vermelho Lagoa hotel opening in Portugal in 2026 is Madalena Caiado. With this second hotel, Christian Louboutin is transforming Melides into a designer tourist destination.

The Vermelho Lagoa hotel will have only 10 rooms that will offer a panoramic view of the lagoon, as well as an infinity pool with ocean views, a full spa with wet and dry areas, and a small restaurant for exclusive use by guests. The Vermelho Lagoa hotel guests will also have the use of the Vermelho Melides restaurant.

When asked why he is opening hotels in Melides, Portugal, Christian Louboutin replies: "This natural beauty inspires my shoe design work."
