Portugal news - Who are the Top 10 celebrities who chose to live in Portugal in 2023?
Number 1 is Nicole Kidman who just bought a property in Parque das Nações in Lisbon while she prepares to move to Portugal with her husband Keith Urban and her two daughters. “We love Portugal!” says Nicole Kidman.
Number 2 is Christian Louboutin who loves Portugal so much that he just opened a hotel in Melides in the unspoilt Alentejo region south of Lisbon.
Number 3 is Princess Eugenie who lives part-time in Portugal with her husband Jack Brooksbank and her son August, in the idyllic CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club.
Number 4 is George Clooney who bought shares in the Discovery Land Company that acquired the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club close to Melides in Portugal’s Alentejo region. The resort, that will have 360 villas, is marketed with the motto "the new luxury of tourism is exclusivity."
Number 5 is Gisele Bündchen and her husband Tom Brady who bought a house on the pristine Alentejo coast close to George Clooney and Princess Eugenie.
Number 6 is actor Michael Fassbender, famous for his role in Prometheus and as the supervillain Magneto in X-Men: First Class and in the subsequent X-Men, who chose a 16th century palace in Lisbon to live with his wife actress Alicia Vikander who played in Lara Croft Tomb raider.
Number 7 is Cristiano Ronaldo, who chose Lisbon to settle and who bought a 9.000 sq. m luxury mansion in Cascais that cost EUR 20 million.
Number 8 is Eric Cantona, the former football star from Manchester United, who left his No 7 shirt to Cristiano Ronaldo and who loves Lisbon so much that he decided to settle there.
Number 9 is David Hallyday, the son of famous French singer Johnny Hallyday, who is developing Europe’s first Green movie studio, Tage Studios, with an investment of € 200 million in Palmela, south of Lisbon.
Number 10 is actor John Malkovich, who invested in a restaurant, Bica do Sapato, and a nightclub, Lux, in Lisbon and who was even awarded the title of honorary citizen by the mayor of Lisbon.
