Emerging Startup Ecosystems are communities at earlier stages of growth and the Top 100 ranking showcases the ecosystems displaying high potential to become top global performers in the coming years. Europe is the most represented region in the Emerging Startup Ecosystems ranking, with a 42% share in the Top 100, followed by North America with a 27% share.

1 – Madrid

Madrid has moved up 12 ranks to claim first Emerging Startup Ecosystem globally thanks to large exits and unicorns.

2 – Barcelona

Barcelona has moved up 2 positions since 2023 to claim second Emerging Startup Ecosystem globally thanks to 3 unicorns with the highest-valued unicorn, TravelPerk, valued at 1.6 billion dollars.
