Portugal news - Portugal’s port of Setúbal is set to become an industrial hub for sustainable development projects under the HUB2GREEN project.

The Port of Setúbal and German company RWE have signed an agreement for the adaptation of port infrastructure to support the offshore wind project. German multinational RWE plans to install a capacity of 50 gigawatts by 2030 with an investment of 50 billion euros in its core business.

The port of Setúbal, that is south of Lisbon, is set to become a major industrial hub for the sorting, assembly and installation of key components for large-scale floating offshore wind energy projects.

Portugal’s port of Setúbal HUB2GREEN project comprises sustainable development projects in areas such as biofuels, offshore wind energy, bioindustry, and sustainable ship repair, among others.
